ALEKSANDAR BAŠIĆ (pronounced Bashich)

is a Visual Artist born in Croatia, 1975. In 2002 he completed BA Illustration at University of Derby and in 2007 MA Media Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Aleksandar regularly exhibits in exhibitions around the UK. He displays fine art paintings that stand on their own as collectible works of art.

"I am interested in all areas of art and design, although I am mostly using oils, I constantly experiment with different styles and media. My motifs are people, objects and places that have left impressions on me. I find inspiration in existentialism, impressionism, cubism and most of the other isms."

"When creating artwork, I am not thinking about the style but rather what I want to achieve. I am interested in “how things work” and I investigate this in different aspects of form, shape, light and colour."

Aside from working as an artist, Aleksandar is also working with adults and children as a lecturer at university and a college teacher. In 2010 he worked as a visiting lecturer at Hunaghuai University in China teaching animation to second year art students.

Aleksandar is actively involved in traditional and modern media and he is an experienced user of both PC & Apple Macintosh platforms. He has excellent knowledge of packages such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver (CSS) and Flash.
